Priscilla Leinberger
Associate Veterinarian
DVM
Hi, my name is Dr. Leinberger, and I am a Veterinarian at North Powers Animal Hospital. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy quality family time and hiking with my husband and our two dogs, Calypso and Toby. When I have the chance, I love to travel and experience new cultures, especially through their food. Calypso is my mixed breed island dog, adopted during my time in Grenada, West Indies, for veterinary school — she is a ball of energy who enjoys everything from the beaches to the mountains, though she also loves a good couch nap. Toby is my senior Chihuahua who loves going out on hikes, even if we have to pick him up halfway, as well as paddleboarding and getting into position for a nap under the blankets.
Favorite Part of My Job
The veterinary field is always evolving and advancing through evidence-based practices. That means I get to keep learning throughout my career, which allows me to provide the best possible care for my patients.
Why I Chose This Profession
I am passionate about empowering pet owners to feel confident and comfortable advocating for their pets' care. Being able to support families in making the best decisions for the animals they love is what drew me to this profession.
Education
I graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. I then earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023, completing my clinical year at the University of Illinois.
Professional Background
My professional interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and exotic animal medicine. I was honored to receive the 2021 Zoetis Veterinary Student Scholarship Award and to be inducted into the Alpha Delta Chapter of the Society of Phi Zeta, the national veterinary honor society, at St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Memberships
I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA).
Work History
During my undergraduate studies, I worked in nearly every position in a veterinary practice, from kennel assistant to reception to veterinary assistant, before becoming a veterinarian. While in veterinary school, I also worked as an extern at Zoo Miami.
