Hi, my name is Elena Hayson, and I am an RVT at North Powers Animal Hospital. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Family time is the most important thing to me, and I love spending time with my husband of 12 years and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. I also enjoy serving in my community and church, and I have a slight obsession with plants that I am not going to apologize for! Cuddling my three dogs, Lily, Camo, and Tater, is pure joy, and watching Sebastian, my strawberry blue jean dart frog, always makes me smile.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of my job is providing exceptional care, held to a standard I have set in my heart for my clients, patients, doctors, co-workers, and our practice as a whole, and accepting nothing less. I especially enjoy helping animals heal, educating clients, supporting preventative care, and nurturing the undeniable bond between people and their pets. I love being a part of North Powers Animal Hospital because of the quality of medicine we provide!
Why I Chose This Profession
I have a passion and love for both animals and people, so there is no other career field for me. My heart has always loved all of God's beautiful creatures, and I want to see every one of them receive the care and compassion they deserve.
Education
I attended PIMA Medical Institute from 2005 to 2006, graduating in 2006 as a veterinary assistant (CVA).
Professional Background
I worked my way up to becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) through the hours-based route, earning my credential at the age of 40.
Work History
I have happily been in the veterinary field for 20 years. I began my career in shelter medicine, where I worked from 2006 to 2010, and I have been in small general practice from 2010 to the present.
